バレンティノ・ガラヴァーニ氏同様にイタリア出身である男性。
 
高校卒業後にローマのデザイン学校で学んだのち
1990年からはカール・ラガーフェルドと
FENDI一家が率いるイタリアブランド「FENDI」において
アクセリサー分野の仕事に従事。
(この頃からマリア・グラツィア・キウリとは長く一緒に働いていた)
 
 
FENDI離脱後は
マリア・グラツィア・キウリと共にVALENTINO入り。
すると、このブランドにおいてアクセサリーラインの立ち上げを任され、
FENDI時代と同様にアクセサリー分野のスタッフとして活躍。
 
創業者の離脱と共に2007年にはアクセサリー部門のトップに。
 
 
 

2008年にVALENTINOデザイナーに

 
 
2008年1月のオートクチュールコレクションをもって
45年に渡りVALENTINOを指揮してきた偉大なる創業者、
バレンティノ・ガラヴァーニ氏が完全にモード界から引退すると、
FENDI時代からの相棒であるマリア・グラツィア・キウリと共に
同ブランドの2代目クリエイティブ・ディレクターに抜擢され、
世界中の注目を集める。
 
以後、マリア・グラツィア・キウリとのデュオで、
VALENTINOというブランドのさらなる発展に大きく貢献。

Valentino. Buon Compleanno. Everyone knows the greatness and the beauty of his work. I was lucky enough to get to know a little more, I had the chance to work with him and to learn from him the secrets of our job but also the man that stands behind his work. I remember, during the endless wait for the fittings, where models had to be already perfect with hair and make up, he would patiently answer to all of my questions. I wanted to know everything about the stories you could read on books but that he actually lived. I wanted to know about Bianca Jegger entering the Studio 54 riding a horse, about Mr Halston’s fabulous apartment, about Jackie O, Nan Kempner and Uptown 80’s, Dalma or Linda and the little human stories behind the iconicity of those moments. And I discovered a man with an amazing sense of humour and a never predictable and very individual point of view. The most important thing that he taught me, as a man and a Maestro, was that even if the world goes somewhere else, you should firmly stand by your ideas and intuition. 2016年からは1人体制に

 
 
2016年夏に長年の相棒であるマリア・グラツィア・キウリが
VALENTINOを退社し、ディオールに移籍してからは
1人でVALENTINOブランドを指揮するようになった。
 
 
2020年秋には
アメリカで開催される世界最大のファッション賞である
CFDAアウォードにおいてアメリカ以外で活躍する
世界最高のレディース衣料デザイナーに対して贈られる
「INTERNATIONAL WOMENSWEAR DESIGNER OF THE YEAR」
の賞を受賞。
世界一のウィメンズ系デザイナーという称号を手にした。
 
 
 

2024年3月、VALENTINO離脱

 
 
2024年3月ヴァレンティノディレクター辞任を発表。
その直後、後任として前GUCCIのミケーレが就任。
どちらも大きな話題に。

CFDA .International Women’s Designer of the Year. Grazie. Far from the spotlight, the crowd, the toasts and the parties I accept this award with immense gratitude for the trust and benevolence of my colleagues and friends. The atypical condition of the ceremony underlines the essence of this achievement: everyday dedication and love for beauty, in all of its meanings. I interpret this award as a reminder, for all the amazing work that my team did, all the support that I’ve received by my family and for the huge opportunity that life gave to me, doing what I love as a job. I daydream sometimes of what I would or could do if I wasn’t a fashion designer..in the end I am exactly where I want to be. So thank you @CFDA and thank you @Tomford for reminding me how lucky I am. @maisonvalentino
